Donate old sneakers
The Morris Hills Boys and Girls Track & Field Teams will be holding a used sneaker drive to collect running shoes to send to children in developing countries who do not have sneakers of their own to wear. Instead of tossing those old sneakers this spring, they can instead be donated to a great cause. The teams are asking for a $1 donation to accompany the shoe donation to help cover the cost of shipping. No shoes are too beat up to donate— those sneakers will go to Nike’s Reuse-a-Shoe program, where Nike recycles sneakers to help build community play-grounds and tracks. Shoes, in a plastic bag, and $1 donations should be given to Coach Kelly. Shoes will be col-lected through April 15.
