Widower and son live without Mom in ‘Letting Go’
The Women’s Theater Company, performing in the Community Playhouse at The Parsippany Community Center, will present a new play, "Letting Go," by Mary Lee Martin, starting on March 7 and running Friday and Saturday evenings at 8, and Sundays at 3 p.m. until March 22. The play is based on a real-life story.
Poignant and funny, the play crosses the line between life and death as a young mother struggles from beyond to help her devoted husband and young son as they try to deal with life without her, on earth. Filled with laughter, love and tears, "Letting Go" offers healing and hope to everyone.
The play features Actors Equity performers Janice Kildea of Dover, Bill Edwards of Southampton, Meridith Johnson of Maplewood, Valerie Stack-Dodge of Morris Township, and Keith Beechey of West Caldwell, Phil Casale of Nutley, Charles Auriemma of Hopatcong as 8-year-old Michael, and Katie Mitchell of Morris Plains as 12-year-old Ashley. Playwright Mary Lee Martin resides in Clark.
The play is directed by Barbara Krajkowski of Parsippany, founder of the Women’s Theater Company, now in its 16th season.
The theater is located at 1130 Knoll Road, Lake Hiawatha. Tickets cost $15 and $13 for senior citizens. There is a discount for groups of 10 or more. Call 973-316-3033 for reservations and information. Visit them on the Web at: www.womenstheatercompany.org.
