PASS (the Parsippany Animal Supporters Society) participated with the Humane Society of the United States to promote awareness and celebrate the 14th Annual "Spay Day USA" 2008 on Feb. 26 and The HSUS program "Every Spay/Neuter Counts."
Dr. Anastasia Ferrante and The Montville Veterinary Group (located at 3 Main Road, Montville) generously donated five spay/neuters to help pet owners and caretakers who would not otherwise have been able to take advantage of these procedures.
The five candidates were:
"Chloe" from Parsippany
"Lilly" from Parsippany
"Felicia" from Montville (currently available for adoption from the Montville Shelter)
"Sherry" from Lincoln Park
"Wilson" from Lake Hiawatha
We congratulate and applaud the pro-active involvement of The Montville Vet Group, their Veterinarians, Vet Techs and Staff in helping to prevent surplus births and saving taxpayers’ dollars
Spay Day USA takes place each year on the last Tuesday of February. Created by the Doris Day Animal League (DDAL) in 1995, Spay Day USA became a program of The HSUS when DDAL combined operations with The HSUS in 2006. Spay Day USA is America's first and only national day of action to promote the spaying or neutering of pets.
The Town of Boonton, the Township of Montville and the Township of Parsippany Troy Hills supported PASS's Spay Day efforts by issuing a Proclamation declaring Feb. 26 as "Spay Day USA" in their town.
For details and to view the proclamations, please visit their website, www.pass4pets, click on the Activities page and select Spay Days.
