YMCA hosts Special Olympics swim meet

More than 80 Special Olympics athletes from Morris, Sussex and Warren counties made a big splash recently at the Area 3 Special Olympics Swim Meet at the Lakeland Hills Family YMCA in Mountain Lakes. Special Olympics is a voluntary, nonprofit organization that offers a year-round program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with mental retardation and other closely related developmental disabilities. The Olympic-style competition helps athletes develop strength, coordination and athletic skills as they compete and achieve success.
