YMCA hosts Special Olympics swim meet

Pausing for lunch at the Area 3 Special Olympics Swim Meet at the Lakeland Hills Family YMCA in Mountain Lakes is Special Olympics athlete Tania Clark of Succasunna, right, who won a gold medal in 50-yard freestyle. Volunteering in the lunchroom is Brandon Glyck of Montville. Among the volunteer groups cheering on the athletes and helping out were the Lakeland Hills Family Y and Dover High School students. Special Olympics is a voluntary, nonprofit organization that offers a year-round program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with mental retardation and other closely related developmental disabilities.
