Students break breads from around the world

First-grade students at Stony Brook Elementary School in Rockaway Township recently hosted a Bread Festival. Parents and family members were invited to the school to sample breads from around the world. The event was the culmination of a month-long unit that the first graders had just completed on world cultures and customs. On the day of the festival, the children entertained the audience with songs and facts that correlated with the different countries they had been studying. Here, Patrick Gallagher and Charlie Lucas get ready to share what they learned about breads from around the world with their parents.
