Rotary Club hosts annual joint meeting of civic organizations
On April 10, the Denville Rotary Club held its annual joint meeting of the town’s civic organizations. The Rockaway River Country Club was the site of the meeting, which was attended by 65 people. In addition to members from the host club, there was representation from the Denville Sunrise Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, UNICO, Denville Women’s Club and the Knights of Columbus. State Senator Anthony Bucco was also in attendance.
Beginning at 6:30 p.m., the meeting was highlighted by the presentation of the Denville Rotary Club’s Vocational Service Award to Fredrick “Fritz” Mott. A Chamber of Commerce member, Mott is, along with his wife, Kathleen, co-owner of Kidswap, located at 311 Route 46 in Denville.
In addition to his many hours of behind the scenes help to numerous volunteer groups, Mott has operated the Chamber’s Web site for the past three years, is on the Denville PAL Board of Directors, coaches several sports teams for Denville Recreation and has been a member of the Denville Community Television.
He filmed and edited the Five Decades of Service videotape for the Denville Rotary Club and followed in assisting with that video’s revision for the club’s 60th anniversary last year.
Those in attendance were also treated to an outstanding guest speaker in the person of Bill Lovett, an official in the National Football League.
