Birchwood goes green

Kathleen David, a Birchwood Elementary School fourth grader, was selected as one of 13 winners in the Morris County Council of Education Association’s annual poster contest. Students were asked to submit pictures illustrating ways that their school could “go green.” As one of the winning entries, Kathleen’s “My School Goes Green by Recycling” will appear in the MCCEA’s 2008 school calendar. An awards ceremony was held at the Rockaway Townsquare Mall on April 7, where she received a gift certificate and was recognized for her achievement.
