H.S. Wrap-Up for May 7

Girl’s Lacrosse
Diana’ D’Achille paced all scorers with five goals as the Morris Knolls High School girl’s lacrosse team continued it’s climb toward the .500 mark with a recent 13-7 Iron Hills Conference victory over Livingston. Brittany Hughes and Katie McMahon netted two goals each for the Golden Eagles. 

In an earlier IHC contest, McMahon netted four goals as Morris Knolls downed Morris Catholic, 11-2. D’Achille tallied a hat trick in the winning effort. The Golden Eagles led, 6-0, at the half.

Alex Mintz and Alanna Joyce both recorded four goals as Mountain Lakes defeated Villa Walsh, 17-5, in the opening round of the Morris County Tournament. Lakes put up 11 goals in the first half.

Boy’s Lacrosse
Tyler Rivera lit up the score board for six goals as Montville dealt Clifton an 11-5 loss. The Mustangs outscored the opposition, 7-3, in the second half.

Tom Ferry was the winning goalie as Morris Hills topped Pequannock, 11-2. The Scarlet Knights went on an 8-0 run in the second and third quarters.

Softball
Diana Dearie collected two doubles as Boonton coasted to a 14-2 Colonial Hills Conference win against Arts. Chelsea Perrotty netted the pitching win for the Bombers, who tallied six runs in the top of the third inning.

Melissa O’Connor posted the shutout pitching victory as Morris Hills downed Kinnelon, 10-0, in a Morris County Tournament first round game. O’Connor gave up just two hits in the game. Samantha Barker roped a triple for the Scarlet Knights, who led, 6-0, after three innings.

Liz Schumann, Skylar Hoppel and Caitlin Farrell all roped doubles as Mountain Lakes fought off Mendham for a 6-4 victory. Lakes broke up a 4-4 game with two runs in the top of the eighth inning. Nicole Donadio was the winning pitcher.

Schumann roped a triple and Donadio earned the pitching win as Mountain Lakes defeated Pequannock, 3-2, in the Ranger Tournament.

In the finals of the Ranger Tournament, host Wallkill Valley blanked Lakes, 5-0. Stephanie Roman was the shutout-pitching winner for Valley.

Baseball
Joe O’Connor and Justin Doniloski both roped doubles as Morris Hills handed Parsippany Hills a 7-0 defeat in IHC action. The Scarlet Knights put up five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Luke Mirabella notched the pitching win.

Boy’s Golf
Kevin O’Fee medaled with a round of 38 as Mountain Lakes topped Verona, 162-205, in a Colonial Hills Conference game. Dom Lenz and Ryan Kelly both carded 41’s for Lakes.
