Unregistered vehicle, no insurance

On April 23 at approximately 12:28 a.m., police arrested Ahsen Mahmmod, 28, of Boonton. He was charged with operating an unregistered vehicle, no insurance, hindering apprehension and operating an unregistered limousine. Mahmmod had been stopped for a motor vehicle violation, found to have a warrant active for him and allegedly was not completely truthful to the officer. He was processed and released.

Lost ring

On April 24 at approximately 2 p.m., a resident of Boonton Township reported the loss of her engagement ring while at the A&P Shopping Center. The ring’s appraised value is in excess of $58,000 and described as a platinum ring containing one center emerald cut diamond 5.20 carats, color H clarity VS1 set with six straight baguette diamonds, total carat weight 0.85, color H, clarity VS1. A&P Management is offering a $1,000 reward for return of the ring.

Vehicle theft

On April 24 at approximately 5:35 p.m., a 1997 Mercury Sable, color green, with NJ Plate FGU-56C was stolen from the Shopping Center located on the 500 block of Myrtle Ave. A witness described the perpetrator as a white male, in his twenties with athletic build. The owner had parked the vehicle in front of Hollywood Video and went inside. The doors were unlocked and the keys were in a cup holder. The witness heard the vehicle "burn out" of the lot towards the exit near the A&P.

Simple assault

On April 25 at approximately 2:03 a.m., police arrested Amy M. Davidson, 25, of Boonton. She was charged with simple assault after allegedly slapping a male acquaintance during a dispute. She was processed and released.

DWI arrests

On April 26 at 12:44 a.m., police arrested Robin A. Newman, 56, of Boonton. She was charged with failure to keep right, reckless driving and DWI. She was processed and released.

On April 26 at approximately 4 a.m., police arrested Jason P. Prichard, 34, of Boonton. He was charged with reckless driving, DWI, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia (pipe). Police had responded to a home of the 500 block of Boyd Street on a report of someone causing damage to the residence. According to the residents, their next door neighbor, Jason Prichard, had broken their garage door windows and threw a rock at their living room picture window causing damage. Prichard apparently had a dispute with one of the residents earlier, who described Prichard as being heavily intoxicated. Shortly thereafter, police found Prichard hiding in the wooded area behind his residence. He was taken into custody. Prichard allegedly had driven his vehicle while intoxicated and that operation was observed by the victims of the initial incident. He was processed and released, pending a court appearance.

Robbery, conspiracy

On April 26 at 9:20 p.m., police arrested Eben Goldworth, 40, of Montclair and Evan W. Schroth, 26, of Montville. Police responded to a reported shoplifting at the Wal-Mart Store, located on the 300 block of Wootton Street. The suspect, who was described as a white male wearing a white shirt and dark pants, took a TV and then fled the Wal-Mart in a 2008 Saturn Vue NJ Plate SNN-92Z. Wal-Mart personnel advised police that a white male approximately in his 30's shoplifted a 26-inch Vizio HDT. They further advised that the suspect presented a receipt to the door greeter when trying to leave, but the receipt did not show a TV, and the subject then just fled the store with the TV, which is valued in excess of $500. Shortly thereafter, Montville Police stopped the above-described vehicle and found the stolen TV. Montville Police also found the two occupants of the vehicle, Evan Schroth and Eben Goldworth, allegedly in possession of CDS and drug paraphernalia. Schroth was charged with conspiracy. Goldworth was charged with robbery, for allegedly shoving a Wal-Mart employee during the course of the theft and shoplifting. Both were lodged in the MC Jail in default of $30,000 bail on each.

DWI

On April 27 at 3:34 a.m., police arrested Jeremy R. Hunt, 24, of Glen Gardner. He was charged with speeding, reckless driving and DWI. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.

Burglary, theft

Sometime between approximately 8 p.m. on April 25 and 6 a.m. on April 26, a resident of the 200 block of Washington Street reported that his vehicle broken into and a radio stolen.

Simple assault, criminal mischief

On April 28 at 10:31 p.m., police arrested Gerardo O. Matos, 29, of Boonton. He was charged with simple assault after allegedly grabbing a female acquaintance around the neck during a dispute. Police also charged Janine F. Harrigan, 25, of Denville with criminal mischief after allegedly damaging the truck owned by Matos. She was processed and released. Matos was processed and released after posting bail.

 

A charge is merely an accusation, and the defendants are presumed innocent or unless proven guilty. Information is provided by the local police departments.
