Jewish Center members give back to the community
For more than 12 years, every fifth Sunday of the month, members of the Pine Brook Jewish Center volunteer at the Community Soup Kitchen of Morristown. Volunteers help in different ways, including donating food, donating money to purchase food and going to the soup kitchen to help set up, serve and clean up for the guests.
On any given Sunday, the amount of people being served range from about 100-150 people. The Pine Brook Jewish Center is one of approximately 30 congregations and organizations that help the Community Soup Kitchen to feed the hungry on a daily basis.
In addition to those who volunteered recently at the soup kitchen, members who donated either food or money for the shift were: Betty and Fred Crane, Mary and Alan Mandel, Elahna Weinflash, The Shatz Family, Sharon Goldstein, Margaret Janzer.
