Father Son Book Club Group
Montville Twp. Public Library is planning a Father Son Book Club Group. The group would be targeted to youngsters in grades six through eight and their fathers. If there is enough interest in a Father Son Club for younger children, the library could plan for that age group as well. Personal Development Seminar

Bird Watching
Bird watching season is here. Pick up tips from a master on May 7 at Montville Township Library. At 7 p.m., Douglas Goodell will show slides of beautiful birds in their natural habitat. His lecture is humorous and full of interesting tidbits.
Used Clothing, Household Goods Sale
All sorts of good, used clothing, household goods and toys will be for sale at the Education Building of the Montville United Methodist Church, 29 Whitehall Road (Rt. 202), Towaco, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 10. Kids’ Pet Care Workshop
Montville Pet Parents will hold a Pet Care Workshop on May 13 at 4:30 p.m. at Montville Township Library. Kids and pets go together but sometimes the learning experience may be hard on the animal. Lecture on the Lincolns
On May 14 at 7 p.m., noted Civil War historian Glenn Le Boeuf will speak about "The Marriage of Mary Todd and Abraham Lincoln" at the Montville Township Library.
Managing Cost of Elder Care
The Chelsea at Montville, 165 Changebridge Rd., will host a free session on managing the cost of elder care on May 15, 7-8:30 p.m. Thomas Murphy of National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys will present: Five Ideas to Save $100,000, review of VA benefits, NJ Medicaid waiver programs, use of IRA savings, structure of finances and changing of wills. Pathways Walkathon
Pathways for Exceptional Children will hold The Hand-in Hand Walkathon on May 17, 10 - 11:30 a.m. It will begin at the back of Montville Township H.S. and end at the Township Park Gazebo. There will be fun, games, prizes, goodie bags and a continental breakfast with lots of good food. Everyone is encouraged to help raise money for all of Pathways’ programs for children with special needs and their mentors. Pathways is also sponsoring the Firecracker 5K race on June 28 at 8 a.m. at Montville Township Library. Clothing Drive
The Auxiliary of the Pine Brook Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a clothing drive on May 17, 9 a.m.- 2 p.m., at 47 Bloomfield Avenue, Pine Brook. Clothes, belts, shoes, hats, blankets, curtains, towels, stuffed animals, etc.
GFWC Banquet

Fundraiser for Gavin Silk
A fundraiser for Gavin Silk, to raise funds to help finance biomedical therapies, will be held at The Barn Theatre on May 29. Strawberry Festival
William Mason Elementary School, 5 Shawnee Trail, Montville, will host a Strawberry Festival on May 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. Enjoy a day of kiddie rides, craft vendors, games, music, food booths, strawberries and more. Summer Program at Y

Donate fabric for Comfort Pillows
The GFWC Montville Township Women’s Club breast cancer project has been ongoing since April of 2002 providing comfort pillows to breast cancer patients. However, the project needs washable cotton fabric in order to continue. To donate fabric, call Alexandria at 973-464-0331.
Book Club Seeks New Members
For many years, Montville Twp. Library’s "First Tuesday Book Club" has been meeting on the first Tuesday of each month at the library at 1 p.m. The club is now looking for new members. Everyone reads the Number One best sellers but this group looks for great books that may not necessarily be the top sellers but deserve merit and discussion. Rec. Department Softball
The Montville Recreation Department is looking for teams and individual players for their Men’s Over 30 years of age softball league. The games will take place on Monday and Thursday evening or Sunday mornings. The season runs from the end of April through the end of August. Call ASAP if interested. MOMS Club
The MOMS Club of Boonton Area is a support group for stay-at-home mothers, open to residents of Boonton, Boonton Township, Montville and Mountain Lakes. It offers daytime activities for mothers and their children. Meetings held monthly on the last Wednesday, 11:30 a.m., at the Montville Field House, Changebridge Road. Pine Brook Jewish Center Religious School
Pine Brook Jewish Center Religious School has begun registration for the 2008/2009 school year. Kindergarteners, first and second graders meet on Sundays, third through seventh graders meet twice a week and Hebrew High classes are also offered. PBJC Nursery School Registration
Parents can register their children aged 2, 3, or 4 now for the Pine Brook Jewish Center Nursery School for the 2008/2009 school year. A Judaic and secular curriculum as well as an impressive facility and outstanding staff give their preschool its excellent reputation. Computer Courses
Anyone interested in computer classes at the Montville Township Public Library can call instructor Vince Sacco at 973-402-0900 ext. 243. If he is not in, leave a message including name and phone number. The library provides adult computer classes in a user-friendly computer lab. Classes include basic, intermediate or advanced courses in Microsoft Word, Excel and the Internet with e-mailing and searching the Web. Instruction is in a small group with one computer per student. The cost for a class is $10 for residents of Montville Township and $20 for non-residents. Classes are free to township seniors.
Kiwanis Club
The Montville Kiwanis Club now holds its monthly dinner meetings at the Montville Inn at 167 Main Road on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, 6:30 p.m. For directions, call 973-263-9713.
Classical Ju-Jitsu
Montville Department of Recreation is sponsoring classes in the Tsugiashi Do Ju-Jitsu system, an innovation evolution of several traditional martial arts styles.
