My husband and 5-year-old daughter moved to Dover this spring. Our across-the-street neighbors, Trish Vitaletti and Paul Leogrande were instant friends, Paul helped me find my escaped Welsh Terrier on the second day spent in this great house, and Trish and Paul have had us over for numerous barbecues with their family members [unbelievable edibles!].  They have loaned a heat gun, staple gun, pooper scooper, leashes and collars, lattice, Halloween lighting, books, bowls,  beach sand, among other things.  They have offered to help with repairs to our old house. These people are amazing! They even invited us to their recent wedding, and regarding that wonderful event, my husband daughter and I say congratulations to two people who are so kind, generous, and selfless, the best neighbors newcomers to a neighborhood could ever hope for!

My neighbor, Eva Hall, a lovely senior resident at the School House Plaza, Denville, is a very special lady as she brightens up our hallways with decorations for every holiday during the year. For the Halloween spirit, she put funny, scary pumpkins in our hallway windows and decorated the artificial tree with a scarecrow, skeleton and pumpkins and put gourds around the tree with a big crochet pumpkin on the floor. She also hung a colorful scarecrow Halloween wreath on our community bulletin board in the foyer for all the residents to enjoy. A big thank you Eva, for all you do to make our hallways look so nice.

Paul and Cathy are the epitome of what I remember an old neighbor to be like, not that they’re old by any means.  They are truly refreshing in a time when the majority of people don't even pick up their heads to say hello, let alone extend a smile or a wave.  Now, don't get me wrong, I happen to be one of the lucky ones who have many neighbors who are very good people, some keep to themselves and others are friendly. Yet, Paul and Cathy are always willing to extend a helping hand not only to myself but the neighbors around me. They even help me find my continuous escape artist dog! Every one of our neighbors should be grateful for Paul and Cathy, they make our holiday season a joy to behold. They have a wonderfully huge spruce tree in their front yard that they decorate at Christmastime. It is filled with an abundance of lights that when lit up will bring tears to your eyes. My house is directly across from this magnificent tree and the warmth flows in through every window. I barely need a tree of my own! They have three wonderful boys and that is a further testament to what good people they are! I am honored and blessed to be able to say, I Love My Neighbors, Paul and Cathy!

I have been a Parsippany resident since 2005, initially living on the Lake Parsippany side.  My husband, young son and I moved to the Troy-Hills section of Parsippany last April. We knew that we loved the neighborhood and the house, but little did we know that we would be blessed to move in next to a family with five children who have now become my son's best buddies. When my neighbor and I officially met, it was as if we had been friends from the beginning of time! Kathy is a mother of five children and she is an amazing juggler, gardener, teacher, chef, chauffeur, artist, wife and friend.  We thoroughly enjoy each other's company whether our families are enjoying a barbecue together, “dessert night,” mani/pedi night or simply a wine and cheese night!  We share quick or long conversations on the front lawn or at the front door. She has offered advice on naps, bedtime, recipes, pulling weeds, growing hostas and creating a nursery for our future second child from ‘scratch.’ This past weekend, I ran out of sugar while making pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and she, very kindly, passed on an extra bag of sugar that she had in her pantry - this fits in with the traditional concept of a neighbor that many have sadly seen pass. Needless to say, my husband, son and I feel very fortunate to have moved into the house next to our neighbors!
